Pitcher of the Day
The POD is obviously New Market’s Emmett Bice. The 6-foot-6 righthander from Charleston fired a complete game shutout (of the seven inning variety) against the hot-hitting Winchester Royals, while allowing only two hits, no walks, and striking out seven to earn the win. He earned a game sore of 80. Bice has not given up a run over his last two outings, a span covering 12 innings. On the summer, he’s 3-1, 4.55, with 30 K’s in 27 2/3 innings.
Others of Note
-Ben Capehart, Winchester: Three innings, two hits, one run, none earned, one walk, one K (Gm 1)
-Daniel Vos, Winchester: 3 1/3 innings, two hits, no runs, two walks, three K’s (Gm 2)
