Back at it the day after the All-Star game, with five games played and one cancelled.


-New Market at Winchester PPD to Wednesday (now a doubleheader)- It rained so hard in Winchester that the dugouts filled up with water.

-Front Royal 14, Strasburg 13- Cardinals scored eight in the eighth inning to shock the Express.

Hitter of the Day

Today it’s Strasburg’s Graham Brown, from Potomac State, on his way to Coastal Carolina! Brown went 3-3 last night, with three runs scored, a walk, home run, stolen base, and four RBIs. He’s 8-19 so far this summer, with a slashline of .421/.542/.842.

Pitcher of the Day

The pitcher of the day is Purcellville’s Logan Walters, from Memphis, who fired eight outstanding innings against Woodstock. Walters finished with eight innings, six hits, one run, three walks, and 11 strikeouts. That would come out to a 74 game score. On the summer, Walters is 1-2, 4.84, with 32 K’s in 26 innings. He was also a top pitcher in the 2019 VBL season, also for Winchester.
